SuperContest-Graphic-Week-7

Well, it just so happens that last week wasn’t the best week for our model to select all favorites for our LVH SuperContest plays. In case you don’t know this routine by now, we built a model that we blindly follow — in hopes of winning the LVH SuperContest. Well, seeing that favorites went 2-12 against the spread across the NFL Last week, our hopes are dwindling.

Last week we ended with a 1-4 record, pushing us in the the red for the first time this season as we are now sporting a 14-16 record. Yuck. Over the past 3 weeks we’ve seen a putrid 6-9-0 record in the SuperContest. That simply isn’t going to cut it

LAST WEEK’S RESULTS:

Here’s a look how our model performed in week 4:

  • 5 Brain Confidence: 0-1-0 (Overall: 0-2-0, 0% win percentage)
  • 4 Brain Confidence: n/a (Overall: 1-2-0, 33% percentage)
  • 3 Brain Confidence: 1-2-0 (Overall: 3-3-0, 50% percentage)
  • 2 Brain Confidence: 0-1-0 (Overall: 4-4-0, 50% percentage)
  • 1 Brain Confidence: 0-2-0 (Overall: 1-3-0, 25% percentage)
  • 0 Brain Confidence: n/a (Overall: 1-2-0, 33% percentage)
  • Just Missed The Cut Plays: 4-2-0 (Overall: 16-9-1, 64% percentage)
Here is our selection of the model’s week 7 plays:

New Orleans Saints at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

It seems that our model simply loves the  Bucs. Thankfully last week they were the one team that actually won and covered. The one nice thing when you bet on the Buccaneers: they give you your money’s worth and play to the end.

Dallas Cowboys at Caronlina Panthers

Last week the Cowboys covered the 3.5 point spread against the Ravens and this week a banged up team rolls into Carolina. The outcome of this game may hinge on the ectiveness of Felix Jones.  Oh wait – who are we kidding — it’ll be on whether the coaching staff can figure out time management and how to play the game of football.

New York Jets at New England Patriots

Just two weeks ago the Jets were 14 point dogs at home against the Texans. It seems that our machine is unbiased in the selection of favorites and likes the Pats at home coming off a loss – by more than 10.5 points.

Cleveland Browns at Indianapolis Colts

Just two weeks ago, the Colts were running the clock out on the Green Bay Packers. This week they’ve been anywhere from a -1.5 to -3 favorite against the 1-5 Browns. The machine is taking Luck at home to cover.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Cincinnati Bengals

The (2-3)  Steelers are simply off this year and roll into Cincy with a stable of back-up running backs. The Bengals have been hit or miss as well, giving their Browns their first win of the season last week. The model likes the Bengals +2.5 – a line that’s been driven down to +1 is most locations now.
